Meet the Team

Nicole Ellefson, Director. Nicole has many years of teaching and working in the field of education. She’s passionate about engaging Jewish youth in learning about religion, ritual, Jewish history, tefillah, and engaging big issues around G-d. She strives to make KIvunim’s educational experiences engaging, interactive, and focused on students’ interests and perspectives.

Sarah Fox-Long, Co-Director.

Jake Kalt, Lead Teacher. Jake graduated from MSU in 2019 and has been teaching Kitah Bet since 2018. Prior to joining the KI team, he was a counselor at a Jewish summer camp for 4 years. He is passionate about environmental sustainability and the concept of tikkun olam. He also works as a software developer.

Shoshie Fox-Long, Lead Teacher.

Raphael Gold, Assistant Teacher. Raphel is a 10th grader at East Lansing High School. He teaches Kitah Bet in Kehillat Israel’s Hebrew school, and had his bar mitzvah in 2018. He enjoys basketball, cross country, and hanging out with friends.
